Netflix : Padre de Pamilya Review

Well, i said it in 2009 and I'll say it again, you will still end up doing the wrong things for the seemingly right reasons.  It will still be survival, sometimes our moral compass is anchored on the future of those that we love. 2009 Reflection Paper Padre de Pamilya is an independent film by director Cesar Evangelista Buendia. It is a film that’s real and honest. It has the country’s culture of corruption and values and how it was able to affect Filipino families. It is also a film that reflect what the current times are doing to the Catholic Families in the Philippines. The film illustrated a father who loved his family that because of financial issues he was able to do  inappropriate actions just so he could satisfy the needs of his loved ones. He was tempted by money and what it could give to his family. Fortunately, his criminal act was caught by the media and was thus sent to jail. His children also suffered from social injustice. It was a different film from what is us...

How Shampoo Bars changed my life!

I may be exaggerating, but shampoo bars did change my life!  It started in 2018 when my grad school professor tasked us to make a business plan.  Like randomly making a business plan, cool yey! I paired up with one of my smart classmates and proceeded to come up with brilliant businesses that entrepreneurs could think of!  We were business students to coming up with a business plan was suppose to be a piece of cake, NOT!   We racked our brains out an ended our whole day brainstorming with nothing on our plate.  We thought about it and noticed that the current market is shifting into sustainable living.  We looked into our plans again and realized that we consume a lot of single used plastic every single day, one of which are shampoo plastic wrappers.  We looked into possible alternatives to shampoo, there was oil, there was soap, there were some other things, but we realized we looked at it in a different way.  We then came up with a be...

Have you ever had that feeling of being lost in your own thoughts? Thoughts about the past? Thoughts about how you ended up where you are right now? Have you ever thought that you could have been somewhere better?  You could have been a completely different person than you are now? So many comparisons right? So many thoughts. So many people to even compare to your life right now. I've had those thoughts too.  Once in a while i get confused with my thoughts.  What I really wanna do, even what I really wanna think about. As I move forward in my life, there are times that i still look back and think about my favorite moments.  My triumphs, my failures, all that happened in between. Randomly, earlier, i was browsing through youtube and saw old videos of Disney's Lizzie Mguire.  Yes, the legendary 13 year old that changed every other girl's awkward teenage years.  So many memories came into play. I suddenly remembered how campus crushes would walk the...

DENICE LAO - the newly launched artist

Came across Denice Lao's music while eating breakfast at McDonalds.  See? I could't forget her music.  What i heard was a raw rendition of her single Just Got Home.  It felt like it pursed right through my heart.  "Too early for the moment, timing's never right". Words I couldn't even seem to utter when confused. Luckily, before this smart chinita launched her album, I had the opportunity to tag along in one of her work trips and she let me in on her experience.  She shared her experiences, her difficult and trying times and how she even excelled in something she didn't think she was even good at.  I found her to be inspiring.  She's not available in SPOTIFY! <3 To the girl who was an inspiration to the youth, keep it up <3

CSI SCUBASURERO 2019

Being a member of a JCI chapter that loves to protect life below water was what attracted me to joining JCI Cebu Sinulog chapter in Cebu.  I have been an advocate of the MDG since I started volunteering for the cause and now I found a JCI chapter that has the same values and visions as I do. In 2003, JCI Cebu Sinulog had this hobby of doing SCUBASURERO with long time and seasoned divers.  This was initially to answer the call of debris below water from highly commercialized areas in Cebu, the island of Mactan particularly in Lapu Lapu City. Fast forward to 2019, as a member of 7 years and counting, the chapter members and I thought that it is time to broaden the scope of Scubasurero for this summer and make this into a campaign that is relevant to global warming.  This time, it is getting the businesses around the island involved and increasing the volunteer count that will not limit to only scuba divers.  This year, we thought to encourage young active citizens...
