Remember High school at Corpus Christi School?

There are those days in high school where you wake up one morning and realize, 'hey, wasn't I suppose to be studying last night?'. There were some days in high school when you found yourself staring at the teacher without thinking about what he was trying to teach you but what the world was about to offer you when the class is over.

There are times when you'd think, "hmm, asa kha mi mag eat after class?" or those instances when your friends would invite you for tempura outside school and hog every spot to clumsily gobble down every savory inch of the sweet sauce that manong has been selling for a decade and that no vendor can compare to. There were those trying moments when everybody was getting more than two pierces and that's not just for girls, and you thought, "kasaban kha kong teacher nene?" Every inch of you're body would start to ich when you know you don't have anything to write on the blank answer sheet in front of you and that you just play with your pen and pretend your writing but secretly your writing a secret note to the teacher saying 'chr, wla koy ma answer...'. The endless efforts to memorize every chapter of the book one night and then waking up the next morning realizing you havn't turned to the second page of the book you were sleeping on.

Have you ever had those high school moments when your favorite stars like Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Ricci and Hilary Duff, etc. were all getting all of a sudden thinner than the usual and the next thing you wanna do is barf every bit of McDonald's French Fry and Cheesburger you ate during lunch time? Or those moments when you kept asking the teacher questions during exams to distract her from your kalay classmates trying to copy each others' answers? Did you forget those times you went to your favorite spot and cut class and was still wearing your school uniform telling yourself, 'nganu mn d.i kng masapnan, kung masapon, hilak lng.'? Ever had those drastic dilemmas because you changed your hairstyle just like what your seatmate is parading around school and you realize that it's so not bagay with your body and face and tummy and thighs and arms in all levels?

There were also times when Sir Ralph caught you making your assignments in the circle of life during mornings to make your vocabs and gets a beating on the head and let's not forget the insult that's comes your way in less than 5 seconds after the first strike of his ogre physique on your head. Christmas Party comes along and you always put on the best outfit you can pick out from the mall or from some hip hop store you can impress your crush with and not to mention all the other girls who would envy your store bought outfit. Subject day celebrations were always a must because it would be the time to go to school and wear your type B uniform, white PE uniform paired up with your good old trusty jeans, not to mention those flare pants that you can't live without. Vandalism and stealing is very wrong and you know it, but stealing or snitching away a vase from a resto and utensils during prom night, even number tags in fastfood chains are much more thrilling than answering the math homework that you're about to pass in 10 mins. Writing on your favorite clean comfort room wall or cubicle door is one of the many things that you must do every time you wanna say something or communicate with someone, cellular phones, you are a thing of the past.

Getting ahead of the camera phone trends were a must, like who owns the latest phone, like this small chubby kid you know, who has vast copra lands and a tiny chinito chinese friend you've known since gradeschool, whom you never thought would know how to drive before he graduates from high school. Joining this organization that you think is a religious one but is actually transparocial seemed to be a must to get in with everyone in school because each person was joining and the camps seemed a really cool way to meet new people and say hi to your senior crush who's also joining. Bulky Jan sport bags were a thing of the past because now your aiming for something more mature like the ones the older students were currently sporting as a trend, the shoulder bags. The shoes for guys were the ordinary leather shoes, the pointy ones but not too pointy and the curvy ones but not too curvy, the girls have to wear the no brainer shoes that would look cute on a school uniform that has a navy theme to it, the good old doll shoes which no one can recall the reason and trend setter of the shoe line.

Playing takyan was also a must wasn't it? Like after class you'd be thinking ,'ng shorts mn ko, maka dula gyd ko ug takyan pag human'. Remember those tedious times were you had to go to the gymnasium every single day and classes would be suspended because you were about to practice something phenomenal that's about to happen every year that everyone, including the alumni would be willing to watch? How about those Saturdays you spent in school doing projects for extra credit and will be much surprised to those times when you have nothing to go to school for during a weekend day but still find yourself standing in front on the school gate and making your way inside? Those times when you had to make a video for this academic subject that invites the learner to have a deep and holistic understanding of himself as a person which was due the next day and you just started shooting the whole thing? Oh yeah, did you forget the note cards we wrote, we even wrote notes on different sized note cards for this paper that was to be passed before graduation?

Eating was a dirty thing of the past, like the way you use your hands for wiping away mouth dirt and using the back portion of your skirt to wipe away those -after-sucking-my-fingers-
hands from all the junkfood. The never ending kasaba of an old teacher who still wants you to learn something and tries to scare her students away by telling them that she'll throw them out the window and tries her best to teach you how to mend a hole on your old uniform that eventually your never gonna use.

There are a lot more things that happened in your school that I know only you can tell yourself and the rest of our lives are ahead of us to remember all those good times and bad times we had during our pre-college and professional years we just gotta go figure out what to do to correct and continue the things that matter in life.
