Mid-week Hangover

**no pictures available Let me tell you a story about my good friend, Bread. Once upon a time Bread decided to go to Solair to gamble and play with fate. He had some drinks.  He won some games.  He lost some money.  He ran out of some sanity. He laughed and played and won and lost until it was 8am in the morning. Realizing the time, he went home. He wasn't alone though, he was accompanied by his friends. They bought some more drinks.  Went home to continue  They continued on drinking and laughing until 2 in the afternoon. When his friends left, Bread felt so lonely and bored. He didn't know what else to do and thought, why won't he just visit his friends, Bird and Princess is the other island. So off Bread went to the runway. When he got to the tower looking really drunk and red, he was asked by the Flyerette if he was okay and offered if he be given some assistance. He said he was though and opted to insist that he di...

Ralph Cecilio, A Teaching Legacy

Image
Sir Ralph Cecilio We know him as the ogre who threatened our everyday English literature life. I had first seen this person when I was 6 years old, a pre-schooler at Corpus Christi School. I was with my playmates one morning and decided to go up the high school classrooms. I could still remember which classroom I saw that American looking teacher on the third floor. I could only see half of his body in front of the black board. The next time I saw this teacher was when I was in 4th grade. We were staying at the high school canteen waiting for our music class to start. We were happily staring at the floor out of boredom and doing nothing on a hot afternoon when a hug man went by and stopped in front of us and said, "you all look so quiet" and walked away. Those were his exact words and we all laughed. When I was able to reach high school in the same institution where I started studying, I was to recognized the same teacher who approached my fri...

Personal Journal Entry JULY 31, 2005

Today's July's birthday. I already sent him a text message early this morning. He said thanks and i love you. He also sent a follow-up message asking me to go to mass the coming tuesday 'cause my bestfriend had something for me, maybe a letter. I talked to my all-time crush FVSJ last friday. And we won the annual cheering competition at our high school. We had a gradeschool barkada reunion after the competition. It wasn't that lavish, we jst ate at a local food chain at one of the local malls. We had fun and I thought it was awsome. There was a downside to our whole reunion though, Bling's phone got stolen, by girl who stood beside her in line to order. I bought a Harry Potter book today, volume 6 And I'm really crushing on my bestfriend's crush. We became kinda close though. Oh and I went shopping, some shirts and a pair of jeans. -such a innocent Junior High School student.;p

Heart of Building A Nation

Growing up, I wanted to become an entrepreneur, to become rich and successful. But, is my own materialistic satisfaction enough to say that I’m already successful? This is what I used to think. I then grew up, and realized that life isn’t just a bed of roses. A lot of my countrymen are suffering more than I could ever imagine while I am here worrying about the next gadget that I’m planning to buy. I wanted to be part of a huge change for this country. I wanted to aware the youth that young as they are they can be part of something big. A tiny speck of participation can gear up to a whole new level of Nation Building . Nation Building isn’t just about building home, serving the poor, working for others, but it’s about doing something for the country and for the countrymen to do something for themselves and their fellow Filipino. Like what the old teaching goes, ‘don’t just give man fish, teach him how to fish’. Being exposed to civic organizations and movements has...
