Being Minimal

Working in a definitely bland environment is bringing out the minimalist in me.  It's not about the way I dress, that thing would be something that would never change.  I'm getting into the whole direct to the point marketing thing going in my head right now.  When I started, I had all this crowded colorful set of ideas that In want to cramp up in one layout, but my boss is the black and white thing so he better likes it if it's something easier to understand.  Besides, our target market is not really into the whole creative and intellectual point of advertising.  This is the first time I've encountered this, I got used to the previous advertising firm I was with before that is full of wide and intricate ideas, here, it's different, I have to think simply so that others can understand. Oh well, it's not that I hate the job, I kinda like thinking and stuff, this job is making me run out of bright ideas!  I'm famished! haha.  But then again, maybe I need to concentrate on work.

The thing is that what my boss likes now, he wont like the next day, that's the hard part of it.  I still need to do something about this cause I really don't know what to place on the layout! I'm not the graphic artisty though, THANK GOD!  I just do the conceptualizing and advertising, I NEVER THOUGHT IT COULD BE THIS HARD! HAHA.  Conceptualizing for a different campaign for the masses, now there's a thought that I need to ponder on.

Situation 1:
A layout I gave my boss that I personally approve.  So to his office I went.  He looked at it and said "I like it, let's see what the class C market would think about it." (calls his players and staff and asks them what they understood about the ad). BOOM! only 2 people understood the concept!! I was all wide eyed and dumbfounded! I was running out of brilliant ideas, so to my concept board I went(with my graphic artist).  I thought, okay, so let's make a very simple ad. Made a local print ad, it's not something I would personally like but, to all fairness, EVERYONE understood the print ad! So the simple one was approved! 0.0

I guess there would be more of this A-L-A moment.  :)
This is such a wonderful job, it's making me run out of IDEAS!

To the concept board I shall go to think of more bright ideas! haha
