JACK DANIELS's / JACK COKE - an addictive drink
Jack Daniel’s has been my favorite drink for over 7 months now and
I still don’t get it. It might be the
Jack and Cola mixture, as what we all know about coke, it’s very addictive
(I’ve been a Coke addict since the 3rd grade). I even have a bottle of Jack in my room! Talk
about being alcoholic. So I did some
research. Wait. I’m still about to do
some research. I can barely concentrate
on doing so since my friends and I are having some of… wait for it.. JACK!
Okay, so far, this has been what Wikipedia has been able to tell
me
- Old No.7 : Also known as Black Label, this is the original Jack Daniels. 80 proof.
- Gentleman Jack: Charcoal filtered mellowed twice, compared to once with Old No.7. 80 proof.
- Single Barrel: Whiskey sourced from a single barrel in the company's warehouse. 94 proof.
- Tennessee Honey: A standard Jack Daniel's combined with a honey liqueur. 70 proof.
- Green Label: A lighter-bodied bottling of Old No.7., not available everywhere. 80 proof.
- Silver Select: For export only. 100 proof.
So the whiskey basically started out with 45% alcohol and reduced
it to 40%, which we now love today. Now
the corporation behind the Jack D. phenomena came up with a brilliant idea of
introducing to the market the JACK COLA a ready-made cocktail mix made out of
cola(COKE) and Jack that has become a popular trend in bars and clubs. I guess this was thought of by the JACK D.
people to provide convenience to the Jack Coke drinkers, like me. Thank you Brown-Forma Corporation for whipping up something that I can easily grab in any 7/11
Personal Experience:
I was doing groceries with my dad when we came across the free taste/drink stand and guess what they were having customers taste for free, JACK COKE! My dad knows how much I love JackCoke so he teased me into have a free shot, I didn't hesitate for a minute, we then ended up standing beside the free taste booth and gulping down a few more shots than expected. I though he was going to grab a set of the Jack mix but sadly, we turned away and looked for my mom cause our eyes were too hazy to concentrate on doing the groceries, talk about Father-Daughter bonding.
